something for your thursday night…

by pieces of moments

…since it’s the new Friday, after all, like long is the new short. My cousin Josh has struck gold again, letting me know about this great band from Oxford, England (the same English county brought you Radiohead as well…send me some water to drink from there!…wait!…I have drunk water whilst there…what gives?!…anyway…).

Presenting: Stornoway.

Isn’t it delightful? I love the massive reverb that gives it a kind of late 50’s feeling and the barber-shop-ish backup vocals that for some reason remind me of  the song “Old Man River” in a very charming way. And really, how fun is it that he’s singing a love song that has something to do with rolling down hills in those giant bubble things (puts the Zorb in “Zorbing”)?
