It’s a widely agreed upon fact that music has an uncanny way of drawing out your feelings and emotions. Back in grad school my friend and colleague Steve and I would sit around and discuss our respective “shiver pieces” – those pieces of music that give you goose bumps or make you cry every.single.time.

Some of those pieces for me include Arvo Pärt’s Te Deum and Richard Strauss’ “Im Abendrot” from the Four Last Songs.
