by pieces of moments

I’m feeling a desire these days to listen to collections of works in sequence. I think it started this summer when I decided to listen to the Beethoven symphonies in order back to back. Then it turned into the Beethoven piano concertos. Now, especially after listening to this excerpt kindly provided by Alex Ross at his new(ish) blog location over at his home office (The New Yorker), I’m feeling like my winter project will be to listen to all the Schubert art songs in sequence (yet to be decided if I’ll go by composition date or the Otto Erich Deutsch catalogue).

I’m growing bored with always listening to things out of order and à la carte.

One thing I will skip, however, is the entire Beatles catalogue performed on ukuleles.
