Oh Laud!

by pieces of moments

Congratulations are – again – in order for my friend the composer Jacob Bancks. Seems like just yesterday we were crazy undergraduates sitting in the caves of the library basement cramming (did I say cramming? I meant reviewing…) for our music history “drop the needle” exams, or ear training trials and laughing the entire way through. Recently he was bestowed with a Charles Ives Scholarship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, as well as a BMI Student Composer Award (along with my fellow NEC-er, now Juilliard-er, David Fulmer).

Way to be, Jake…and the best part? We’re still laughing…
