going pro
Uh, procrastination, that is…Sunday afternoon and my Word doc is open with exactly one word typed = nice. Sitting in my favorite cafe in my hometown = nicer. Hmmm, is it possible to go pro in day dreaming? Perhaps I should become an Imagineer? But you know, I had to chat for a while with one of the girls who has worked here forever and is now moving to Seattle to be with her boyfriend. I’ll miss seeing her!

Whenever I was home for the summers of my undergraduate I worked at the fine stationery shop next door (that’s where I learned everything and everything about proper stationery…just ask me…as well as picked up my penchant for writing only on Crane stationery…yes, it’s true I only write on Crane’s) and I would stop in here all the time. The owner, Patty, is awesome. When I used to come here for lunch with my grandfather Patty would come over to our table to sing happy birthday to him, and whenever I am visiting town they experience an influx of income due to my very, very, frequent stops for coffee and conversation. It’s like my other living room, really.
Well, I would say it’s time for me to switch back to my still blank Word doc, but they are closing up soon…so maybe I’ll just chat a bit more. Happy Sunday!
I hope you don’t de-friend me for not knowing … but what cafe is that????
Geez, Jody…let’s see, we’ve been friends for what…25 years? LOL I won’t de-friend you! It’s The Village Grinder.
